Most think of the 1990 hit comedy Home Alone as a family-friendly romp to watch around the holidays. An eight year old child is left behind on a family Christmas trip whereupon hijinks ensue. 

In fact, Home Alone is a study of the importance of family, community over the individual, coming of age, and, most importantly, religious salvation through Jesus Christ. Don’t believe me?
